This extremely rare coffee comes from a prized lot of Guatemalan beans grown in the Acatenango region. The aromatics, flavor, and mouth feel of this coffee is very unique and is compared to a tea among coffees.

The Gesha coffee has a unique story that is unlike any other coffee. It was first selected by an English expedition to Ethiopia in the 1930s when searching for a coffee that could resist some of the common diseases. It was first tasted in the 1950s in Costa Rica and then introduced into Panama in the 1960s. It slowly made its way to some other farms in central america that have been able to produce some world champion coffees.

These beans are larger than most, the trees look different than other coffee trees, and this variety is uniquely resistant to a disease called coffee leaf rust.
